Finding an all in one PC for your family can be a challenging task. If you are a light or a mid-range user, several options on the market will confuse you as to which desktop you should buy. In this HP Pavilion 24-df0014 review, we take a look at this new all in one desktop from HP and see how it fares in the all in one desktop seen.

This new HP desktop belongs to the Pavilion series from HP. The Pavilion series has a lot of repetition for producing excellent computers. On paper, this desktop computer from HP has all the ingredients to make a wonderful home computer. The desktop mainly targets light users like students and home users who want an everyday computer that is also incredible for multimedia. Is this desktop worth the price? Let’s find out in the full review below.

Design

The desktop comes in full white and makes a very good first impression. The design of the laptop is very modern and there are very few desktops that look as good as this one. The speaker bar on the front is a weird design choice but it is not a deal-breaker in any way.

The desktop is made from plastic as you would expect a budget desktop to be. The plastic used in the construction of this PC is pretty good and doesn’t give us any flex. The glossy finish of the plastic does give us a premium look even though most of it is restricted to the back face.

The stand we have here is a solid aluminum one. HP has gone with a rectangle a slab design for the stand and it holds the desktop quite well. The stand is not very what’s the tile when it comes to features of a stop you can tilt the desktop forward and backward to a certain degree and that’s it. You can’t swivel, adjust the height, or even pivot the display into a vertical one.

The keyboard and the mouse we get with this HP Pavilion 24-df0014 are wireless ones. The keyboard is a pretty good one and comes with a beautiful day out. The white keyboard and mouse reminders of the once we get with the iMac. The number pad comes in handy for those who work with numbers all through the day. The charge of these components holds for a good time and even charging for a few minutes can give you days of use.

Display

The display we have on the HP Pavilion 24-df0014 desktop is a 23.8” WLED-backlit display that comes with a resolution of 1920 x 10 80 pixels. This display comes with an IPS panel underneath and offers an excellent overall visual experience. The color quality is on point and you will enjoy watching your favorite content on it.

The widescreen display is perfect to take your productivity to the next level. You can snap two windows side-by-side and work on them simultaneously getting more things done in less time. The viewing angles of the display are also fantastic which means you can have presentations with people on your side without any issues.

The desktop also comes with a 720p WebCam attached to the top of the computer. The quality of the WebCam is decent when you have good lighting in your room. You get potato quality when you don’t have a lot of light but this is pretty much the case with all 720p webcams out there.

The soundbar in the front takes a triangle shape and gives us a lot of expectations. For a multimedia device, the soundbar does a pretty good job. As the speaker grill is directed towards us, the sound hits us from the front and it’s quite audible. At higher volumes, there is a little bit of distortion but it is to be expected. If you are not very picky about sound quality, the speaker will be enough for most users.

Performance

HP Pavilion 24-df0014 AIO Desktop

The HP Pavilion 24-df0014 desktop is powered by an Intel Core i5 8400T processor. This is a hexa core mid-range processor from Intel and it has a pretty good job when it comes to handling your everyday needs. The processor comes with a base clock frequency of 1.70 GHz and has a maximum clock speed of 3.3 GHz. The Intel Smart cache memory of 9 MB comes in handy when dealing with simple applications like office suites and browsers.

With this processor in charge, this desktop computer can handle pretty much anything you throw at it from a light user standpoint. You will be able to run heavy applications but there will be bottlenecks along the way.

The memory department on this desktop computer comes with 12 GB of RAM. This memory is more than enough for most mid-range users and should give you a decent amount of space when it comes to memory management. You will be able to run several applications side-by-side without affecting the overall performance of the computer.

The storage on this HP Pavilion 24-df0014 desktop computer is made up of 256GB solid-state drive. This storage is fast and as a much better option, when compared to the likes of a mechanical hard drive. The solid-state drive loads the operating system in just a few seconds which is impossible with a mechanical hard drive. You will also notice that applications open at a lightning-fast speed which is excellent for home use.

Graphics and Connectivity

The HP Pavilion 24-df0014 computer does not come with a dedicated graphics card. This all in one desktop PC is not intended to be a gaming machine. As a result, you are only left with an Intel HD graphics 630 as your only graphics card. This integrated graphics card does a pretty good job when it comes to handling your daily graphics requirements. If you are into light gaming, this desktop will be fine to suit your needs. Anything above that is going to be a problem.

The desktop comes with several connectivity options available on the back of the device. You get 2 USB 3.2 Type-C ports, 3 USB 3.2 Type-A ports, two HDMI ports, an ethernet port, and also an audio jack. These essential ports are very handy when it comes to handling your data transfer and external connectivity needs. You also get built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to wirelessly cater to your connectivity requirements.

This HP Pavilion 24-df0014 all in one desktop is an excellent mid-range offering from HP. You get a beautiful looking device that has all the essential specs to help the light and mid-range users in your home.
